FAQ

If you have questions about rules or other game content, please see the Social and Stuff pages. Whitehack has a great community, and joining it or checking out what they’ve produced is the best and quickest way to get the answers you need.

Q: Why should I buy Whitehack?

A: Whitehack is known for quality, innovation and adaptability within the on-going development of the original tradition. But don’t take my word for it—read some Reviews! I originally designed the game to suit players and Referees who can’t or don’t have the time to handle huge rulesets, but who love the settings those rulesets are for.

Q: Can you give me a list of things in Whitehack, so I can quickly see if there’s something I like?

A: I can!

Q: Can you say something about what’s new in Whitehack 4e?

A: I can!

Q: Can I purchase the print version and the digital version together?

A: Sorry no, the print and digital versions take advantage of technologies found in different publishing services. You need to buy them separately.

Q: Are there any differences in content between the digital and print versions?

A: The text and layout are the same, but the digital version has been extensively hyperlinked, fully bookmarked and provided with some extra navigation. It comes with one file for tablets/computers and one file with minimal margins, for smart phones.

Q: A previous edition had a format I liked. Will it be back?

A: Maybe! I follow changes in Lulu options and underlying technologies very closely. Chances are the format you liked can no longer be made, but chances are also that this might change in the future.

Q: My copy from Lulu didn’t arrive or was printed incorrectly. What do I do?

A: I’m very sorry to hear that! Please contact Lulu support, describing your problem and attaching photos of the error. They will take it from there.

(It may help to understand the process: When you place an order, it is sent to a Lulu affiliated print shop in your part of the world. Your book is then printed and sent using the shipping option you choose. Once it gets to your country, the local postal service usually takes over. If something goes wrong anywhere, Lulu needs you to contact them, because you are their customer, and Lulu is the postal service’ customer.)

Q: Would you be interested in third party products specifically for Whitehack? Translations? A publisher? Distribution? Retail?

A: Thank you, but no. Whitehack has been a solo DIY project for over a decade, and I still want to see where it goes :).
